I’m working on a novel, the title of which is still undecided. The story is of a young man in the southwestern United States during the 1870s; a Western. I hear too often, “Write about what you know.” But there’s nothing I know that would interest me. I love reading Westerns and so I’m going to try to write a Western. Wish me luck!
The story
After the death of his father, Carter McGill’s brother, Cranston, takes over the family ranch and effectively pushes Carter out. Even though his father was rather prominent in the area, and had many friends among the other local ranchers, Carter decides to seek his fortune well away from the ranch, and Cranston.
